frog?

today is feb. 29, it's a leap year!
i remember when i was in elementary school and leap years were such a big deal (i had a friend who was born on 2/29/84). we used to all know when it was a leap year and didn't we just think that that was the coolest! it makes the year a day longer!
-fast forward a bunch of years-
i didn't even realize this year was a leap year until feb. rolled around and i looked at my calendar and thought "hey, look at that, we get 29 days this year" and then i moved on and didn't really think about it again until yesterday, cuz there was still one more slightly unnatural day left in this 28 day month.
oh the little things that were so important to us when we were children :)
i tutored someone in linguistics the other day. a friend of mine called me up and said she needed massive help so she doesn't fail her first ling exam. it's very strange to be the one to go over and help someone like that. i have been studying some form of linguistics since my first year of uni, so i can probably teach a basic course if i had to, and explaining it to my friend wasn't very difficult, i mean it was morphology and lexical semantics for pete's sake! but i actually enjoyed teaching it to her, weird!
